Barcelona have confirmed that their new forward Neymar, has developed anaemia, although they insist it won’t affect his participation in pre-season training.
The club’s doctors discovered the blood disorder, which affects the reproduction of red blood cells, when the Brazilian underwent rountine blood tests.
As a result, the 21-year-old has been put on a refined training programme and is a doubt for the club’s tour of Thailand.
Barcelona told The Associated Press: “due to an operation on his tonsils this summer the player is suffering a case of anaemia that is being treated and won’t impede him from training with normality with the rest of his teammates.”
This news comes just one month after the former Santos star wwas treated for tonsillectomy.
